Joinery and Stirling homes
Stirling has historic stone buildings in the Old Town below the castle, Victorian villas in Kings Park and Bridge of Allan, former council housing in Raploch, Cornton and St Ninians, and newer housing around Bannockburn and the edges of the city.
- Older stone homes often have original timber sash windows, doors and skirtings that a joiner can repair.
- Repairing original sash windows and doors is often preferred to replacing them in conservation areas.
- Period villas often have original staircases, panelled doors and sash windows that are worth repairing.
- Fencing, internal doors and kitchens are common jobs in ex-council houses.
- Built-in wardrobes, media walls, decking and fencing are popular jobs in newer houses.
Areas covered include City Centre, Old Town, Raploch, St Ninians, Bannockburn, Causewayhead, Cambusbarron, Riverside, Braehead, Cornton, Kings Park, Bridge of Allan. Local authority: Stirling Council.

It takes about a minute. Fields marked * are needed.
How it works
- Tell us the job. Give a short description, your postcode and roughly when.
- We pass it to one local tradesperson who covers your area and does that kind of work. We pick one, not five, so your phone won't ring all day.
- They contact you to arrange a visit or a quote. You decide whether to go ahead.
To be upfront about what we are: we're an independent quote-request service, not a trade company. We don't vet, insure or guarantee anyone's work, so always get a written quote and check the registrations that apply to your job.
Questions
Does it cost me anything?
No. It's free for homeowners and tenants. Some tradespeople pay us a small fee for an introduction.
How many people will contact me?
One. We share your request with one local tradesperson only. If they can't help, we'll ask you before passing it to anyone else.
Which areas do you cover?
Stirling (FK7–FK9), including Old Town, Raploch, St Ninians, Bannockburn, Causewayhead, Cambusbarron. If we can't find someone suitable, we'll tell you honestly.
Do you check the tradespeople?
