- Uneven walls and floors in older stone houses can add time to tiling and fitting, so a site visit before the quote helps.
- In listed buildings, new extract vents on the outside walls may need consent.
- Larger period houses suit freestanding baths and bigger kitchen layouts, but the pipe routes are worth checking first.
- Builder-grade kitchens and bathrooms are often upgraded after a few years.

One. We share your request with one local tradesperson only. If they can't help, we'll ask you before passing it to anyone else.
Which areas do you cover?
Edinburgh (EH1–EH17), including New Town, Leith, Stockbridge, Morningside, Bruntsfield, Marchmont. If we can't find someone suitable, we'll tell you honestly.
Do you check the tradespeople?
We only pass jobs to businesses with a public address or trading history, but we're not an accreditation scheme. For gas work, check the Gas Safe Register. For electrics, check SELECT, NICEIC or NAPIT. City of Edinburgh Council Trading Standards can also advise on dealing with traders.
